Founded as VPT Mechanical Solutions, the business is led by owner Te Manu Timu, who brings over 16 years of experience across mining and heavy equipment maintenance. From day one, the focus was on doing the job well, earning trust and making sure clients could rely on us.
Over time, our capability grew, and with a solid foundation in place, we were ready to take on more than mechanical work, all while maintaining the same high standards.
The launch of DEE Fire marked our first expansion, introducing fire suppression and hydraulic solutions and giving clients access to another critical service through the same trusted team.
Spectrum Drill Support followed, bringing specialist expertise to drilling operations where reliability and fast response are essential.
Today, VPT Group brings together multiple specialist divisions under one structure, supporting mining, drilling, and industrial operations across Western Australia. Our teams understand the environments they work in and take pride in delivering quality work, every time.

Te, Owner and Managing Director of VPT Group, has over 17 years of hands-on experience across mining and heavy equipment.
He started on the tools and worked his way through the industry, from field service through to leadership roles, including Workshop Manager. That experience still shapes how the business is run today. It’s practical, grounded, and based on what actually works on site.
Te understands the pressures of keeping operations moving, meeting production targets, and working within real site conditions. He’s been in those environments — across drilling, surface and underground mining, and a wide range of mobile plant and equipment, so he knows what’s expected and what it takes to deliver.
As the business has grown, he’s remained closely involved in both operations and the team, setting the standard for how work is delivered. He takes a hands-on approach to leadership, staying connected to both the work and the people doing it.
He also places a strong emphasis on relationships, with clients, the team, and the broader community. The goal isn’t just to deliver a service, but to build a business that clients trust and people are proud to be part of.
His approach is straightforward — do the job properly, be reliable, and take responsibility for the outcome. That’s the standard carried across the entire VPT Group team.
